Axiology - "Value Science"
The science of how our individual hierarchy
of value impacts everything we do. |

"Axiology"
(see any English dictionary) has been around for
over 2,500 years since Plato and Socrates first
asked "why do we do what we do?" The philosophers'
answer was simple:
In any given moment
a person will always choose and act in accordance
with what they value most in that moment -
consciously or subconsciously.
This is not about
moral or religious values. It's about how we make
value judgments - what is most important/valuable to
us.
A person can say
that they value their children or spouse most of
all, but moment by moment choices and action are not
always consistent with that value. In any given
moment, they may value their work, the football
game, or finding the right pair of shoes more.
In
the mid-1900's axiology became a formal science when
Dr. Robert Hartman discovered the mathematical
structure of what constitutes a universal or
mathematical hierarchy of value. That is: all
things in the universe have a mathematical place
along a continuum of value. Dr. Hartman's discovery is as
real, scientific, and profound as the discoveries of
Galileo, Newton, and Einstein concerning the
mathematical laws of physics.
Not only did Dr.
Hartman discover the mathematical law, but he
discovered a way to directly measure an individual's
persons hierarchy of value. His assessment
instrument, The Hartman Value Profile, has been
scientifically validated in numerous international
studies (available on request) across multiple
cultures, religions, and economic populations. The
assessment instrument directly measures how a person
thinks, based upon their personal hierarchy of
value. Because it is an objective instrument,
the assessment can not be manipulated, unlike MBTI,
DISC, and virtually psychological and behavior
instruments other assessments. Amazingly, it takes only 20-30
minutes to complete.
Dr. Hartman was
nominated for a Nobel Prize in 1972 for applications
of his work in the field of economics and
organizational dynamics. Unfortunately, he passed away a year
later; his life's work just barely scratching the
surface of this fascinating new field of science.
The
founders of 6 Advisors™ went back to Dr. Hartman's
original work and have made a quantum leap ahead in
it's use and application for personal and
organizational development.
With a proprietary analysis of a person's results
from the Hartman Value Profile, we can tell more
about how a person thinks than any other assessment
we or any of our clients have ever used or studied.
By comparing an individual's personal hierarchy of
value, with the mathematical hierarchy of value, we
know with pin-point accuracy how their thinking is
likely to support or sabotage their success.
A key difference in
the 6 Advisors approach is that we do not label
people as one thing or another. We view labels (such
as extrovert, dominant, creative, or controlling) as
either life sentences or convenient excuses. We have
proven over and over again that, with the application of neuroscientifically sound methodologies, people can
grow and change in their thinking habits. In fact, the combination of
axiology (how and what people value) combined with
proper methodology can actually change people's value
structures to dramatically increase performance in
any and all measures. In short, a person CAN
preprogram their mind.
What this means for
YOU is that we can tell you what's actually going on
between your candidate's ears, not just what they
want you to know.
Candidate
Assessment is just the tip of the iceberg of what we
do. We also offer a entire suite of personal,
leadership and organizational development services
that can address any
challenges an individual (newly hired/promoted or existing
employee) or team of people may be facing. See
Mentis Education for more about our other
services.
